Bella's Blessing

Ok by the request of several people, here are the pictures from Bella's blessing. It went very well. We had it at Shannon and Andy's new house last Saturday. That is Nate's sister and her hubby. It was nice and small with mostly close family and a few close friends. It was nice to have my parents and brother Paul there. I wanted Bella to wear the dress my grandma (the one her middle name is after) made, but she was too big. Vicki and I went shopping and found the one she wore. It is a 6 month dress. She is wearing that size clothes now. She is my big girl.

Just an update on Nate's aunt. The surgery went well. The cancer was further than they thought, but they think they got it all. Of the 10 lymph nodes they took out, only one had cancer in it. Now she has to go through chemo and radiation. Her spirits are high and the doctors are really hopeful. She is recovering pretty well. I will keep you posted.

Not much else is going on here. We have all been really sick this week with bad colds. Bella and Vicki are the only ones not sick so far. Tomorrow a bunch of Nate's friends are coming over for the Super Bowl. They have been doing it every year since they were in high school. It's weird for me since I never watched it growing up. I don't really care about it either. It is nice to have the friends over though. Enjoy the pictures!

Mother and daughter.

It looks like mom and I are looking at one camera and dad and Rob are looking at another.

Nice picture of older brother Paul and me.

Full shot of Bella.

Don't you just love the dress?

She is sooooo cute!

We were getting Rob ready for bed one night and he was being really sweet to Bella.

Isn't this picture so precious?

Mom and dad with the kids.

Grandpa taught Rob how to balance stuff on his head while he was here. Rob does it all the time now with everything. Thanks grandpa.

Rob's 1st haircut

So I'm sick and tired of someone getting on my case about Rob's hair so I broke down and finally cut it. They bugged me about it almost daily. He kept moving around so that made it hard, but I think I did a pretty good job. I think it looks cute.

The before picture.

During the process.

The after picture.

A view from the front.

He is just so cute.

More pictures

I have been trying to take more pictures of Rob in his everyday life. He is such a funny and happy little boy. Not much is new with us. Pam's funeral was nice. Now we are focused on Nate's aunt fighting her cancer. She has her surgery today. Other than that, we are just getting ready for my mom and dad to come visit for Bella's blessing. We are very excited to have them come. Rob is going to LOVE all the attention. I will post more pictures after the blessing.

Showing off his Cub pj pants that his cool Aunt Sharon made him. Thanks Sharon!

His face met the driveway yesterday but he didn't get scraped too bad.

He thinks it's fun to sit in Bella's chair.

Laughing at Great-Grandma Geri.

Rob wasn't a big fan of Santa at the Smith family Christmas party.

Bella chilling at Shannon and Andy's house.

Rob found his old sunglasses the other day.

He likes to sit in this booster seat and play.

Sad times in the Smith family

This post is not going to be a very happy one. Saturday morning Nate's cousin, Pam, died from breast cancer. She was only 38. She left behind 4 children ranging from the ages of 9-17. This is the second death in the Smith family due to breast cancer. Nate's aunt Deanne died from it about 1 1/2 years ago. The sad thing now is that an aunt on the Murphy side of the family just got diagnosed with breast cancer. The doctors are pretty hopeful she will beat it. We all pray that she will. Keep us in your prayers please.

On a note of good news, I went to my 6 week follow up appointment with my OB/GYN today. She said I am healing well and that my incision looks great. I am staying on the Zoloft because it is working great for me. No PPD after this delivery. YAY! This recovery is SOOOOO much different than the one after Rob. Just thought I would pass along the news. Here are some more random pictures of the kids.

Rob likes to "help" us and put in Bella's pacifier. He is pretty good at it.

Our cute skeleton at Halloween. He loved trick-or-treating with his cousins.

Just thought I would compare a picture of Rob after he was born and Bella.

They look more alike than I thought.

I have done it!

Well I have finally started my blog. My family has been bugging me for a long time to start one. I don't know how on top of it I will keep, but I will try to do my best. For now I am just going to post some pictures from Christmas and random ones of the kids. Rob is 16 months old and Bella is 1 month old.

Rob loves to play in the dishwasher.

Reading with his great grandma Nini.

He loves the camera.

Playing with his new toy Nini gave him for Christmas.

She is just too cute!
