So a few weeks ago Nate and I got to go to San Antonio, TX (by ourselves) because Nate had to present his poster of the case study he did at the NATA Annual Conference. San Antonio is such a great city. If you stay downtown, you don't need a car. Everything is pretty much within walking distance. They have this beautiful river walk that goes all through the city too. We walked on it pretty much everyday. They of course have the Alamo, which we went and saw. For some reason, I pictured the main building to be a lot bigger than it actually is. They also have a Ripley's Believe it or Not museum and a Wax museum that we went to. They were a lot of fun. We also took a boat tour of the river. It told us a lot about the city. We really enjoyed it. The first night we were there, we went to the minor league baseball team's game. It was really really boring so we left early. It was cool to see all the jets flying by though. It made us feel like we were back home. The kids did well while we were gone. Nate's parents watched them for us. Overall, we had a great time. It was nice to get away just the two of us. We considered it to be an early anniversary celebration (our anniversary is July 14). We also went to the restaraunt at the top of the Towers of America and had dinner. It is kind of like the Space Needle. It rotates around so you get to see a 360 degree view of the city. We loved it. San Antonio is a great place to go for vacation. The only downer is that it is SOOOOOO HOT!!!
